StatsRemote Version 4 for Windows, Mac and Linux
V4
Windows Installation Guide

You can import all your accounts, settings and stats from StatsRemote V3 to V4.
This only takes a few minutes and there's no need to enter anything again.

Please visit http://java.com/en/download/installed.jsp and verify which version of Java you have. Please update it to the latest version if necessary. You need version 5 or later.

Then download the software using the following link:
StatsRemoteSetup.exe

Once downloaded double click StatsRemoteSetup.exe. Please follow the instructions carefully and go with the default options if at all possible. Windows 7 and Vista users - please do not install the software within the Program Files folder as this will conflict with the User Account Control settings.

When you start the software for the first time you will be prompted to select your existing StatsRemote installation - if this is on the same PC, the usual location for this is C:\Program Files\StatsRemote (please choose the actual StatsRemote folder and not only the database folder). Also, please make sure that your current StatsRemote is not running while you do this. If it is on another PC, please copy the entire StatsRemote folder from the other PC to your new PC.

This import step is designed to gather your current programs, usernames, passwords and certain other settings - your current version will not be affected in any way.

Those of you who have not used StatsRemote before can skip this 'import' step and add programs like any other new user would.

If you accidently skipped the import step you can still import your data later:

1. Close all StatsRemote instances.

2. Search for a file called workspace.ini and delete it. It's usually located here: C:\Users\[name]\statsremotedata

3. Start StatsRemote again and you will be offered the chance to do the import again.

If you will be testing StatsRemote V4 on the same PC as your current installation, we recommend not to run both versions at the same time.

We want to know about anything you find that is strange, odd or suspicious. If you find that you need to make any changes to your current PC settings in order for the new StatsRemote to work - we want to know. This includes browser settings, firewall settings (both OS and 3rd party), virus checking settings, spyware checking settings, etc.
